The Sleep Center Technician works under the general supervision of the Sleep Center Director and/or the Medical Director (M.D, D.O., or PhD) or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. A Polysomnographic Technician can provide supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee.

Requirements:
License or Certification:
- Current CPR required.
Education, Training and Years of Experience:
- Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration, associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility.
Machines, Equipment Used (Remove Brand-Specific References):
- Sleep System
- CPAP/BIPAP
- Pulse Oximeter
- Capnograph
- General office equipment such as, PC, telephone, fax machine, copy machine

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Environmental Conditions:
- Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. Occasional outdoor exposure.
- Exposure to chemical vapors such as acetone, collidon, mazidon, or glutaraldehyde may be required.
- Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required.
- Handicapped accessible.
- May work under stressful circumstances at times.
Proficiency or Productivity Standards:
- Meets established attendance standards.
- Adheres to hospital/department dress code including wearing ID badge.
- May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines.
- May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
- Will be required to work as necessary during disaster situations, i.e., before, during or after a disaster.
- May be required to stay after workday to assist after a disaster situation until relief arrives.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
