We currently have an exciting Per Diem opportunity for a Neonatal/Pediatric Certified Respiratory Therapist to provide Services in the Pediatric Critical Care Units (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Pediatrics Ward (2E) within the facility Naval Medical Center San Diego.
Schedule:
12 Hour shifts
6am - 630 PM / 6pm to 630 AM
Shifts Available 7 days a week
Requirements:
Respiratory Therapists providing neonatal and pediatric intensive care services shall possess:
Current certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) from the California Respiratory Care Board (CRCB).
Two years critical care experience within the preceding there years.
Current
critical care experience defined as a minimum of 10 hours per week for a calendar year in neonatal/pediatric respiratory care at a Level III-B or higher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) under the supervision of a medical director of respiratory care or specialty area (NICU/PICU). Current critical care experience must include proficiency with the administration and monitoring of specialty gases (e.g. Nitric Oxide, Helium-Oxygen); and the selection, assembly and troubleshooting of equipment (e.g. nitric oxide delivery devices, high frequency oscillatory ventilators (HFOV), high frequency jet ventilators (HFJV), transcutaneous monitoring equipment and mechanical ventilators).
OR
Current specialty certification in Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care (NPS) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
AND
One year of critical care experience within the preceding 2 years. Current critical care experience defined as a minimum of 10 hours per week for a calendar year in neonatal/pediatric respiratory care at a Level III-B or higher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) under the supervision of a medical director of respiratory care or specialty area (NICU/PICU). Current critical care experience must include proficiency with the administration and monitoring of specialty gases (e.g. Nitric Oxide, Helium-Oxygen); and the selection, assembly and troubleshooting of equipment (e.g. nitric oxide delivery devices, high frequency oscillatory ventilators (HFOV), high frequency jet ventilators (HFJV), transcutaneous monitoring equipment and mechanical ventilators).
NRP ( Neonatal Resuscitation Provider)
BLS ( Basic Life Support)
PALS ( Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Preferred Experience:
Candidate will be proficient in ventilator management, oscillator management and INO delivery
Strong Critical Thinking Skills
Ability to provide services as a “Stand Alone" Therapist
